D.U.I. Arrest

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 5:03 A.M., Officer Chiuchiolo observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Roseland Ave. with a flat front passenger side tire.  Officer Chiuchiolo conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the driver as a 37-year-old male who resides in Caldwell, NJ.  While speaking with the driver, Officer Chiuchiolo observed several indicators of someone who may be under the influence of alcohol.  Officer Marta arrived on scene and the driver was asked to exit his vehicle so that he could perform several field sobriety tests to determine if he was safe to operate a motor vehicle.  Upon completion of the tests, it was determined that the driver was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely and he was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.  Once in headquarters, the driver submitted breath samples for the purpose of testing.  It is alleged that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit.  He was issued several motor vehicle summonses including driving under the influence.  These charges are merely allegations and the driver is presumed innocent until he is found guilty in a court of law.
