On February 25, 2021 at approximately 3:25 pm officers were dispatched to the golf course at the Essex Fells Country Club for a report of two dogs that had fallen through the ice at a pond. Upon their arrival, one dog had managed to get out of the water, but the other was not able to get past the ice and was still partially submerged. With the assistance of Club staff members, Sgt. Scott Jones ventured out on to the ice and was able to keep the visibly exhausted dog above water and eventually pull him to land. Sgt. Jones, along with Officer Kevin Brogan, the Essex Fells Fire Department, staff at the EF Country Club combined to save the life of this dog. Job well done!
