On July 3, 2024, at approximately 1:30 A.M., Detective Berger and Officer Rigas were flagged down by a concerned motorist regarding a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway on Roseland Avenue. Upon arrival the officers observed the vehicle positioned in the intersection of Roseland Avenue and Rensselaer Road stopped on the double yellow lines facing southbound. The female driver, a 43-year-old female out of Parsippany, complied with the officers’ orders and moved her vehicle into the shoulder. The officers asked for the driver’s motor vehicle documents in which the driver stated they were in her trunk. While at the trunk of her vehicle a glassine baggy containing a white powdery substance fell from her person into the roadway. The driver returned to her vehicle and was ordered to exit the vehicle. While removing the driver from the vehicle an additional glassine baggy containing a white powdery substance was observed in the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle officers located a third glassine baggy containing the same white powdery substance, multiple pills in a defaced pill container and loose pills in a tote bag. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with possession of 5-99 doses of prescription legend drugs, possession of 4 or fewer doses of prescription legend drugs, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance classified in schedule I, II, III or IV. These charges are merely allegations, and she is presumed innocent until she is found guilty in a court of law.
