In the afternoon of Sunday January 17th, Officer Jonathan Berger stopped a vehicle on Runnymede Road for observed motor vehicle violations. Upon speaking with the driver, a 22 year old male from Newark, Officer Berger immediately detected a strong odor of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed that the driver was in possession of several glass jars containing loose marijuana, numerous empty plastic sandwich baggies, 11 sealed packages containing THC edibles, and 138 new packages labeled “Stoner Patch Dummies 500mg THC”. In addition, the driver was found to be in possession of Counterfeit US Currency. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters where he was charged with several motor vehicle violations and several criminal violations, including Possession of Over 50 grams of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Forgery. He was given a court date and later released.
(It should be noted that charges are merely allegations and any/all parties are presumed innocent until pleading guilty or being found guilty in a court of law)
