On November 20, 2021 Detective Berger attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop of a white dirt bike traveling northbound on Roseland Avenue. The driver of the dirt bike, later identified as Steven Franco of Caldwell, 18, failed to comply and was driving in a reckless manner in an attempt to elude apprehension. The same individual in the following days was involved in several eluding incidents in the surrounding towns. Through a thorough investigation it was determined the description fit that of Mr. Franco. On December 2, 2021 Detective Berger charged Mr. Franco criminally with resisting arrest and obstruction along with numerous motor vehicle offenses. These charges against Mr. Franco are merely allegations and he is presumed innocent until he is found guilty in a court of law. Authorized by: Chief Darren Volker
